We need Food Coordinators - can your work or congregation help?
General Information:
Thanks to the hard work and good will of our friends in the community, Our Daily Bread is able to deliver food and other necessary household supplies to needy Fairfax County families every weekend. Many people in our own back yard fall on hard times finanically and struggle to afford basic necessities on their limited incomes. Our Food Program allows us to provide this growing list of families some relief. The aim of this program, as with all of our programs, is to lend these families a helping hand until they are again able to maintain self-sufficiency.
We receive donations, from generous people throughout Fairfax County, in the form of non perishable food and other items. These donations are then delivered weekly by our volunteers to our 30 families who receive ongoing food assistance. The need to provide this assistance continues to grow. The current length of time families wait for this critical assistance is three months. We rely on our community to make this program work and we need your help.
Plant the seed today. Talk to your business, congregation or civic group about a wonderful group volunteer project. It's about neighbors helping neighbors.
