Holiday Program
Our Daily Bread’s Holiday Program matches families in need with local community groups, businesses and individual families willing to provide Thanksgiving and December meals and gifts. Families are referred to Our Daily Bread by Fairfax County social workers and school guidance counselors.
The Holiday Program is a great way for a group or family to rediscover the true spirit of the holidays. Last year over 2,400 families in Fairfax County were helped! Simply complete the donor form to participate.
Step 1: Complete the Donor Form and Send to ODB
To adopt a family simply complete the donor form documenting the number of families and children you will serve.
Click to open the Donor Application Form (Microsoft Word)
Send your form to:
Email: holiday@ODBfairfax.org
Fax: 703-273-7131
Address: Our Daily Bread
10777 Main Street, #320
Fairfax, Virginia 22030
Phone: 703-273-8829
Step 2: Review the Family Profile and Contact the Family
|
ODB will match you with a family and fax you a family profile including the family’s address, phone number, children's ages, sizes, toy wish list, etc. Once you receive the family profile, contact the family and let them know to expect assistance, review the items/sizes requested, verify the address and make delivery arrangements. If you decide to buy gift cards, you can mail them once you verify the mailing address. In some cases, the mailing and delivery address are different.
Step 3: Make Your Delivery or Send Gift Cards
Deliver items based on your arrangements or send gifts cards to the family’s mailing address. To avoid any confusion, confirm the delivery and mailing address with your adopted family.
What does adopting a family for the holidays entail?
It is as easy as:
-
Assembling a holiday food basket
-
Buying gifts or purchasing a gift card or two
-
Donating to Our Daily Bread - and we'll buy and mail the gift cards. Click on the donate button on ODB’s home page or mail a check to Our Daily Bread, 10777 Main Street, Suite #320, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. Donations are tax deductible.
